ArchitecTUNED is the winning entry of the three-staged competition, organized by NTUA for the needs of the First Pan-European Radio Amateur event “Europe on the Ionosphere”. Aim of the competition was an eco-friendly, easily assembled mobile pavilion, to be placed in the central square of each one of the 28 capitals of the E.U. The pavilion is designed to host for 2 days in May every year the radio amateur team of each country and allow to communicate with other teams of Europe.
Main idea is the creation of an instant landmark in every city’s central square, which aims to gather and connect people with the rest of Europe. The design aims to create an object as a piece of furniture and provide a shelter for various environmental conditions. Working in an intensive one-month workshop in collaboration with professors from the Departments of Architecture and Civil Engineering the pavilion is designed in detail 1:1. The implementation of the project is pending.
