Ερευνητικό Τμήμα της Αρχιτεκτονικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Λευκωσίας

Η Σχεδία διοργανώνει το πρώτο Συνέδριο με τίτλο Socially Engaged: Design Conference 2014, το οποίο θα λάβει χώρα στις 3 και 4 Μαΐου, στο Ερευνητικό Τμήμα της Αρχιτεκτονικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Λευκωσίας.

Το Socially Engaged Design Conference 2014 είναι ένα διήμερο συνέδριο που στοχεύει στην πραγμάτευση της σχέσης του socially engaged design με την ανάπτυξη του αστικού τοπίου στην Κύπρο (πώς αντιλαμβάνονται οι διάφοροι επαγγελματίες σχεδιαστές και ακαδημαϊκοί τον όρο και ποιος είναι ο βαθμός χρήσης του στην κυπριακή πραγματικότητα).

Δώδεκα επαγγελματίες σχεδιαστές, δημιουργικά σκεπτόμενα άτομα, ακαδημαϊκοί και ομάδες από την Κύπρο και το εξωτερικό θα παρουσιάσουν τη δουλειά και τις απόψεις τους σχετικά με τη θεματολογία του συνεδρίου. Η λίστα περιλαμβάνει τους παρακάτω ομιλητές:

Σωκράτης Στρατής (Αρχιτέκτονας και Καθηγητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου),

Ευανθία Τσελίκα (Καθηγήτρια στο τμήμα Καλών Τεχνών στο Πανεπιστήμιο Λευκωσίας).

Το Συνέδριο απευθύνεται συγκεκριμένα σε επαγγελματίες σχεδιαστές (designers), αρχιτέκτονες, πολεοδόμους, μηχανικούς και στο ευρύτερο κοινό που επηρεάζεται από την πολεοδομική ανάπτυξη και ανάπλαση μιας περιοχής.

Μετά τη λήξη του συμποσίου θα κυκλοφορήσει επίσημη έκδοση με τα συμπεράσματα και το υλικό από τα εργαστήρια.

Design group Schedia is organising a two–day conference exploring the relationship between the field of socially engaged design and the development of the urban environment in Cyprus.

Socially Engaged: Design Conference 2014 is taking place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May at the Architecture Research Centre of the University of Nicosia.

Twelve international creative practitioners, thinkers and academics will come together to share their knowledge, theories and ideas, establishing a dialogue between the different communities involved in and affected by changes in the urban fabric in Cyprus.

The conference appeals to designers, architects, urban planners, academics and members of the central and local government that work with and influence urban development in Cyprus.

The talks, Q & A sessions, workshops and round‐table discussions will be conducted in English.
