OPEN CALL! Inflating the Public_2 Workshop

Urban Gorillas NGO in collaboration with the Architecture Department of the University of Nicosia is hosting a second specialised workshop all about inflatable (pneumatic) architecture in November. The workshop will be led by Berlin-based inflatables expert Marco Canevacci, founder of the renowned Plastique Fantastique group (www.plastique-fantastique.de).

Inflating the Public_2 takes place within the framework of the Green Urban Lab project, an Urban Gorillas initiative that is made possible through funding from the EEA Grants / Norway Grants.

The workshop will offer the opportunity to architects, architecture students and graduates, urbanists, industrial designers, interior designers, and anyone else interested in design, public spaces and social engagement issues, to have a hands-on learning experience with one of the world’s leading inflatables specialists. Workshop participants will create installations that will appear in urban public spaces in different cities around Cyprus next spring, as key features in the Green Urban Lab project.

The Workshop will take place on seven consecutive days (10-16 November 2014) between 09:00 and 17:00. Participants will be expected to attend every day, for a minimum of 5 hours per day, or for a minimum total of 35 hours over the 7 days. A Certificate of Participation from the University of Nicosia will be awarded for participants who complete at least 35 Workshop hours.

We are able to guarantee 10 places at no cost, including materials, to successful applicants.

  2. Your motivation to participate in Inflating the Public_2 (max. 100 words)
  3. Any schedule restrictions you may have due to work. We will do our best to accommodate all successful applicants.

This Call ends at 16:00 on 29 October 2014, after which all applications will be reviewed by our team and successful applicants will be notified via email.
